Self Watering 1/2 Barrel Planters
Each self watering barrel planter has a 15" deep removable plastic liner (See below) with 1/4" holes in the bottom. The outer barrel is filled with water thru a hose connection near the top of the barrel (See below). The barrel is then filled up to the bottom of the insert. The level is controlled by a small overflow hole (See below) in the side of the barrel keeping the insert just above the water line. Water leaches up into the soil as the plant needs it. The overflow hole also keeps the barrel from flooding when it rains. The barrel planters are 18" or 23" tall with a 23" diameter.

The whiskey barrel "Planter Gardens" come
with a 15" deep plastic liner
witha second 7" deep "planter ring" liner that allows planting of flowers around
the perimeter of the barrel while letting the spitter fountain pour water into

The elevated barrel garden was designed for physically challenged individuals
who are wheelchair bound or have trouble bending over to work in a garden at
ground level. It is also great for persons who only have a small patio area in
their back yard, or apartment owners with balconies. The basic Elevated
Container garden contains 4 separate planting containers and a center work area.
In the above picture, on the far right is a dwarf (5 on 1) grafted (Fruit
Cocktail) tree with two types of plums, one peach, one nectarine and one
apricot, all on the same tree. On the far left is a Dwarf Columnar apple tree.
