COLD FRAMES

Our cold frames are built with the finest western red
cedar and 8 MM twinwall
polycarbonate. Solar vents allow our cold frames to open and close
automatically.
Solar vents keep your seedlings warmer when the outside
temperature drops and
cooler when the outside temperature rises. When you have a solar
operated cold
frame, you can go away for the week-end with out having to worry about
your
seedlings burning up on a sunny afternoon or freezing on a cold night. Get
a big
jump on your spring gardens with a solar vented cold frame from
Cedar Tree Greenhouses.
Installation Instructions
When first receiving your cold frame set it on its side and
attach the solar
vent by squeezing the two legs together and inserting them into the two holes
in the bracket attached
to the front of the cold frame. Your cold frame is now
ready to operate. After the initial
connecting of the solar vent the cold
frame can be connected and disconnected from the solar vent by gently
lifting the top of the unit and reaching in and disconnecting or connecting the
vent. Do not
force the top open past 2 or 3 inches as you can damage the
cylinder. The solar vent will open and close
the top of the unit as the
temperature fluctuates. It is fully closed at 65 degrees and fully opened
at 85
degrees. The solar vent is adjustable by about + or - 5 degrees.
Cold frame in partially opened position and cold frame full open with solar
vent
detached. It is best to prop the lid when in the fully open position so
as not to
strain the hinges.
Your cold frame is now ready to give you many years of service.
